First part of the system opened in 1959. 4 Lines, the Blue (Seagull Line), the Yellow (Sunflower Line), the Green (Caravel Line) and the Red Line (Eastern Line). Several extensions under construction. In March -00 there are 47 stations, 37 km long. Three-rail system. Left hand traffic. Approx 95 percent underground, making photo conditions difficult...
